Okay- so I'll admit it- there are a lot of things about weddings that I love. I mean, it's good to keep some perspective on things and maintain a realistic view- BUT- can a girl help herself?? There are so many cute, pretty, fun things about wedding planning as well.
Case in point, my invites that came in the mail a couple of days ago. I had them made on Etsy. Gotta love etsy.com! So much great stuff there, so many talented artists.
Here's a little glimpse at them------>(sorry for the whiting out....I have soooo many stalkers....)

What do you think? I don't have the typical white wedding type of taste in invites, so I did find it a bit hard to get something that really rang true for Pete and I. But after chatting back and forth with a designer on etsy I got everything my way! Love getting things done my way- typical Taurus that I am.

Have any of you thought about custom made invites? I would say go for it! It's such an easy way to bring your own personality to your wedding.

DIY, WIC.... another few things I never thought I'd know about.

DIY- well, that one's pretty clear actually. :)

The Wedding Industrial Complex is a weird and scary place. Go read Sara's stuff at 2000dollarwedding.com or pick up the book One Perfect Day by Rebecca Meade and you'll learn all about how scary this whole industry (and the fact that we even call it an industry should give you a good idea about where I'm going with this.)
Okay, let me be clear here- I think weddings are great. I went to my first wedding 6 years ago. My sister was getting married and I was a bridesmaid. It was a great party..... but something was....missing. Where was the love? Where was her insane personality? It's like everyone was expected to turn into wedding zombies and do the wedding act. It was a great day, don't get me wrong, but it definitely didn't reflect what I thought weddings were about. Example: they spent their wedding night in a great hotel counting their gift money!

I knew then that I wanted mine to be different. I hadn't yet met Mr. PG but I knew someday my wedding would be a sweet little affair, maybe in the backyard of a friend with a great house. There would be family and friends all joined together to see a beautiful ceremony and then have a lovely party. Little did I know that getting from point A (not engaged, no wedding in site and absolutely no idea on how to plan one) to Point B (4 months to go, so many details, marrying the love of my life- in someone's great backyard with friends and family!!) was going to be such a stressful and difficult thing to accomplish.

Trust me ladies out there I can relate.

Too pink?

So, like everything else- I'm always questioning- does this blog make me look too pink? :)

Color schemes- I never thought I'd worry so much about them. I'm sure for anyone who has gotten engaged, wants to be, has just gotten married- whatever your current status- I'm sure we can all agree that none of us knew or expected to care about themes, and colors etc etc.
I never in a million years thought I'd be the kind of girl who wanted her invitations to match her flowers, to match the centerpieces to match the dresses to match the..... and the list goes on.
Really I always kind of knew I'd have a nice wedding, to a nice guy, in a nice place. That was the extent of my plans. But now- totally different story. I am googling "wedding colors" "wedding themes" "ways to decorate a wedding". I know what chartreuse is, I attempted to plan to match my invites to the girls bridesmaid dresses. HA!
Really what does it matter? Does it matter...? I still can't decide.

Do a color scheme make or break the atmosphere of a wedding?
and...what do we all think of these flowers??? I LOVE THEM!

Hello Everyone- recording live from somewhere!!!!

Ahem- so here I am. Finally succumbing to the glory that seems to be blogging. I've spent countless hours looking at other people's blogs, mostly wedding ones, in the past few months since becoming engaged (MUCH more on this later). I love to have a glimpse into what others are looking at, thinking about, planning for their own weddings, and everything else that involves either being alive and trying to get a wedding planned.

This is going to be a daily blurb/blog about what it's like to be planning a wedding with less than 4 months left (the planning has already begun by the way), and a very small budget. Like....as small as we can possibly keep it actually!
As much as possible I'd like my wedding to reflect the love that I have for Mr.PG. I love flowers, centerpieces, escort cards, favors and cakes as much as the next girl, but these are no the details I want to focus on.

Join me as we journey towards finding the real meaning of what a wedding is- fighting and tearing our ways through the fondant, frosting, tulle, ribbons, bows, and god-forbid rhinestones that seem to latch onto every woman who says "I DO!"
